The memorial traces the history of the ownership of Carolana [sic] beginning with a recitation of the original grant made by Charles I in 1630 to Sir Robert Heath and listing all those with title to the land up to Dr. Coxe. After proving his title to the property, Coxe describes his plan for settlement, relations with the regency and the Board of Trade and his plan to give the colony to the crown. A letter from Thomas Nairne to Charles, Earl of Sunderland. As agent and itinerary justice among the Indians, Naire writes concerning his investigation in to the strengths of the tribes inlands belonging to the colony of South Carolina that could possibly be united by the French at Mobile against the colony, and makes suggestions about future settlement and trade.
